ASUS Design Center's profile

2019 Vivobook Colors, Materials, and Finish

To celebrate 30 years of ASUS and invite guests from Computex 2019 to visit our Headquarters office in Taipei, Taiwan, we designed three rooms to showcase our innovations.
Our Color, Material, and Finish room breaks down different aspects of the CMF and ID processes. An array of materials and finishes are carefully arranged to show the considerations and inspiration our team uses to experiment with.
Every project starts from a small idea based on global trends analysis and research. Slowly creative ideas will materialize from this research, which is a big part of the creative process.

Tiles and small structures are made by the CMF team to explore patterns and develop finishes.
Vivobook 2019 colors are displayed with elements in a grid form. This reflects the CMF process and how creative resources are organized and refined. The gradient background shows how emotions can vary from different shades of the same color.
The CMF team carefully considers each color and how it evokes certain emotions, based on these considerations it is named and given a description. Peacock Blue "pioneers in a wide universe. It shines in a mysterious quality beneath a low-profile base."
The ZenBook wall shows the manufacturing tooling and finishing process from beginning to end, a total of 67 processes.
The Studiobook wall articulates the lifestyle of content creators. There is scale and focal points to reflect the precision utilized by designers.

The wall also features genuine sketches from the industrial designers' creative process. In addition to sketches, it shows the quarter models of the design which are utilized during the prototyping stage of design.
